Welcome to Specialized Treatment Facility. This web site is intended to inform the public of the agency's purpose and role for which it serves Mississippi's adolescents. On this site, you'll find information pertaining to the Facility's mission, employment opportunities, admissions, facility news, and other useful content. For additional information, please feel free to contact the Facility .

Resident Care
Specialized Treatment Facility (STF) provides psychiatric residential services for up to 48 adolescent Mississippians who have been diagnosed with a mental disorder. Adolescents eligible for admission are between the ages of 13 and 18 who present an Axis I Diagnosis of a severe emotional disturbance and need psychiatric residential services.

Admissions
For adolescents to be admitted at the Facility, they must first meet a range of criteria, including being diagnosed with an Axis I DSM-IV-TR psychiatric disorder and have no pending criminal charges, as specified in Mississippi statute.

Employment
Working the for State of Mississippi has many benefits, including paid vacation, sick, and administrative leave; recognition of holidays with pay or alternative time off; health, dental, and life insurance; and retirement plan.

Volunteers
Volunteers are welcome to participate and donate their time to spend with the Facility's residents. Our facility offers a variety of activities for which volunteers can participate in, including:

  • Musical performances
  • Host a holiday party
  • Reading
  • Playing games
  • Arts and crafts
  • Christmas gift giving
